A new, special report from the Yardi Matrix team details that Coworking is no longer a trend, but a fixture in the U.S office sector. The report features the following data:
Increase in Inventory: There is 43.5 million square feet of shared office space being rented in 20 large US markets, representing 1.7% of total inventory.
Manhattan is the Coworking Capital: Manhattan, N.Y., ranked first in both the overall amount of shared space (13.7 million square feet) and the percentage of total stock (3%) dedicated to Coworking.
Metro Drivers - Tech and Vacancy Rate: The presence of tech industries in a market seems to be a driving factor in the largest Coworking hubs, as the markets over 2% of office stock tend to have highest tech startups/workers.
